Wonderful Watercolor!

Good morning to all!  Isn't this absolutely amazing??  My swapping friend, Kimberly Allen, made this card for our swap.  She is so talented in so many different ways--truly an amazing person!  She used the stamp set, Always Thankful from the holiday mini and paired it with the spice cake dsp also from that same mini catalog.  Her watercoloring on this project is truly amazing.  The wheelbarrow just wows me!  I love the blend of color to create that rusty look.  Thanks for stopping by today.

Stamp a Stack

Here is one of the stacks from a recent stamp a stack class I had.  I love the black and white theme.  They were so versatile.  I have them do 3 different designs and 4 each of that design so they go home with 12 cards and envelopes at the end of the class.

I used the fabulous florets stamp set which was in the summer mini and it made the current IB&C.  Some black satin ribbon and rhinestones to accessorize.  The sayings you see here come from a couple of sets, friendly phrases and a word for you.  Thanks for stopping by today.

I LOVE sunflowers!

Isn't this just beautiful???  I received this from my good friend, Penny, this week and I have gotten so much enjoyment already from it.  I love fall and these sunflowers are just lovely.  Then a couple days later I received this card from my swapping friend, Sharon Burkert.

This card has a black base with Calypso Coral for the focal color.  She used the single big sunflower stamp found on page 149 and the my friend saying from the stamp set called My Friend on page 139.  She used the new scallop dotted ribbon and a rhinestone to accessorize.  The inside has more sunflowers stamped on it and a handwritten note from her.  So beautiful!!

Hello Doily!

Today's post is a card we made at last week's stamp a stack card class.  It uses the Hello Doily stamp which is a big background type stamp that is new to our current IB&C.
We stamped it onto the wisteria cs with versamark ink and showed them how to make the scallop square portion of the card be the folded base of the card.  You take two scallop square pieces that were die cut with the Big Shot and make the fold at the top.  I learned this technique from my blogging friend, Emma, you can find her here at Lady & the Stamp .  She has a great "how to" on her blog of how to do this.   Other stamp set used is called Petite Pairs (page 164).  I love this set.  So one on the front of the card and the other on the inside--see below.  The crochet trim is victoria (page 194) and goes with the doily theme so well.

We didn't do this inside part at the class but it would work wonderfully since we have a triple layer punch in doily style--what a great idea SU!!!  A big thanks to Robin as well for sharing this trick with Emma who shared with me!  Sharing ideas, that's what it is all about!  Enjoy the rest of your day!

Grand Prize Cards!

Today's  post are a couple of cards that were given away in the Grand Prize Drawing last night's stamp-a-stack class.  So we do this fun little drawing where you sign your name to a number on the piece of numbered paper.  You get one number for every $10 worth of order you place that night.  So if you have a $40 order you get to pick 4 numbers.  Then at the end of the night we draw for a winner, depending on the size of the class we may draw for two.  So the winner recieved the hostess stamp set called Happiest Birthday Wishes on page 10 of the 2011-2012 IB&C.  I made these two cards that were made with that set to give away as well this time.

The one of the left used our newest in colors, pool party, island indigo, lucky limeade, calypso coral, and wisteria wonder along with some circle punches.  The leaves were punched from first edition dsp with blossom petals builder punch (page 213).  The stem was cut with the tasteful trim die (page 221) with the Big Shot.  It makes an adorable stem.  The framed tulip embossing folder with the Big Shot for the white layer.  If you look closely there are a couple pearls to accessorize the greeting.  The card on the right uses Beau Chateau dsp (page 184) and some 3/8" taffteta ribbon in soft suede.  Both greetings come from the Happiest Birthday Greetings set.  Thanks for stopping by~~Rhea

More Spice Cake--mmmmm and calorie FREE!

I love this dsp called spice cake and I love spice cake but this one is totally calorie free in paper form!  Here is yet another sneak peek of a door prize card.  Will you be the lucky one tonight at class in Lewistown to win it??

What a fun card to make.  The leaves were cut with the Big Shot and the leaves #2 die.  I then ran them thru the embossing folder called square lattice to give them some fun texture.  The greeting comes from the Thank you so kindly stamp set from page 168.  Again, like yesterday, I am picking colors from the dsp so used crumb cake, early espresso, more mustard, and pool party.  Then some vanilla 3/8" taffeta ribbon.  I ran the dsp thru the leaf die to get a leaf to make a matching envelope.  You can find the spice cake dsp in our holdiay mini catalog from Stampin' Up!
Have a great day today and thanks so much for stopping by to visit.

Triple Treat Flower meets Spice Cake!

Today's post is one of the cards that I made for part of a door prize drawing for my class on Monday night, so if you are registered to come you are getting a sneak peek!  You might win it!

It uses the single stamp called triple treat flower found on page 18 of the current IB&C.  The greeting comes from Friendly Phrases found on page 162.  The Spice Cake dsp you will find in our holiday mini from Stampin' Up!   I took my colors to ink the flower with from the colors in the dsp.  I used soft suede, more mustard, and pool party.  Stamped the flower three times (triple treat) and punched them out with the ½ inch circle punch, 5 petal flower, and fancy flower punches.  I added a little vanilla seam binding and layered the flower over top with dimensionals.  I'm off to finish getting things ready for class tomorrow--I can hardly wait!!  It's gonna be such FUN!!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Oh Baby!

Today's post is a baby card -- I needed a couple of these recently and with the summer months, along with all the ranch work I haven't been in my stamp room a whole lot.  Needless to say, it is time to spend some time in there and get some cards stamped for my "stash".  I got inspiration for this card from our Stampin' Success magazine that we get each month as SU demonstrators.

I used a certainly celery base card that was ran thru the Big Shot with the polka dot embossing folder.  I also used the Big Shot to cut the letters to spell babywith the timeless type sizzlits (page 224 of the IB&C).  I'm not quite sure how I ever lived without my Big Shot?  The buttons are SU and some are retired and some are current to get the colors to match like I wanted.  Stamping comes from a couple of sets; Sweetly Said (page 158 of the IB&C) and Short and Sweet (page 166).  The little espresso scallop edge was made with the dotted scallop ribbon border punch found on page 211.  I hope my new mom's and dad's enjoyed this card as they welcome their new little one to the world!  Thanks for stopping by--have a fabulous day everyone!

Creative Elements

Today's post uses the stamp set creative elements found on page 137 of the 2011-2012 IB&C.  It uses a fall theme of colors that I really love together; perfect plum, more mustard, and old olive.

I used the Big Shot and the new designer frames embossing folders.  I only used one of them but you get two in the package.  I then stamped the curly cute (Page 168) saying in the middle top using elegant eggplant ink.  I stamped the flourish around the edges as well.  On some scrap mustard, I stamped the flower in elegant eggplant as well and trimmed it out.  The pearl accents were colored with a permanent marker.  I am loving those little strips of pearls and rhinestones that you get in the package with the single ones.  Have a great weekend!  Thanks for stopping in.

Best of Everything

Today's post uses a new set from the 2011-2012 IB&C found on page 103.  It is called Best of Everything.  It is kind of a fun, whimsical set.  I needed a sympathy card  but hadn't used this set yet so decided to make it work that way.

I used soft suede, pink pirouette, and certainly celery.  The dsp is the specialty paper called Mocha Morning.on page 183.  Some pearl accents to accessorize.  The other stamp set featured is another new one to this IB&C found on page 164 called Petite Pairs.  The second saying "...to heal your heart" went on the inside.  Enjoy your day!

More Summer Mini

More summer mini swap cards for you.  This first on is made by Susan Nickerson.  She used the stamp set called The Open Sea found on page 9.

Also another summer mini tidbit is the baker's twine on her card.  You can find it on page 10.  Very nice card!

A card made by the very talented Kimberly Allen.  Very bright card in person with the melon mambo and black.  The embossing on the strip is a little hard to see but if you look close you catch it.  Stamp set is Fabulous Florets again on page 22 & 23.

The above card was made by fellow swapper, Jill Nolan.  It was made with the single stamp showcased before called Sail Away.  Some texture using the square lattice folder and the big shot.  Just a touch of color to the sails and water makes for a very nice card.  Thanks for stopping by today--enjoy your week.

Summer Mini Cards

The summer mini catalog will end on August 31st.  Stamps and accessories that were not included into the current IB&C will disappear forever!  Here are some cards made with stamps and accessories from that mini catalog.  This first one was made be a fellow swapper, Maria Matonti, using the Happy Greetings stamp set found on page 26 of the summer mini.  I love this set--lots of style in one set.

She also used the Flower Garden embossing folder with the Big Shot along with some glitter.  The scalloped bottom is from the Beyond the Garden dsp found on page 23.  Keep in mind, the designer series papers are on sale this month (regular priced ones, not specialty).  So all the $10.95 papers are Buy 3 get 1 FREE.  Time to stock up!  Only one sale for a couple more days till the end of August.  As I stated yesterday I will be placing an order and plan to place it on Tuesday.  I will do a mystery hostess order with this and put all who order in the drawing  for some free goodies.

This card was made by another fellow swapper, Janice.  This card uses one of my favorite color combos; white, red, and black.  So striking together.  She used the stamp set Fabulous Florets found on pages 22 & 23 in the summer mini.  Some rhinestones added for bling with two layers of the vintage wallpaper emb. folder and big shot again.  The Top Note die makes a nice frame for the focal point.

Mary Ammar, another fellow swapper, made this card.  She used the Nautical Expedition dsp (Yes, it is one of the ones that is on sale this month), and you can find it on page 8 of the summer mini.  It also uses a single stamp called Sail Away found on page 11.

This card was made by swapper, Elizabeth Hardin.  Again using the top note die with the big shot, and the fabulous florets stamp set.  She also used the Four frames stamp set and some rhinestones and white satin ribbon for bling.  Thanks for stopping by today--sorry I am a little late posting--I forgot we had a party to attend today!

Triple Treat Flower

Well....what a week!  We finished up hauling bales home, working on fencing stackyards, fighting fire due to dry lightening (my least favorite thing to do!), etc.  We did get the last of the haying equipment back home too.  Yippee--maybe things will slow down so I can stamp more.   My stamps are feeling neglected!  :-)

Images © Stampin'  Up!  1990-2011
I used some of the new "In colors" for these cards.  Lucky limeade, calypso coral, and wisteria wonder.  They are so pretty together.  SU has great new ruffled ribbon in these colors and printed polka dot brads to match as well!  How fun!  Here is a close up of the focal point of the card.

Images © Stampin' Up!  1990-2011
I love this flower as you can punch it out; all the different layers coordinate to SU's punches!  The flower is a single stamp new in the current IB&C, called Triple Treat Flower!  I ran the circles thru the embossing folder for the polka dot dimension.

You can see how you can switch the colors around and use different ones and they look a little different but still a fun little card to make.  Another touch that is fun is to layer the white on white--I haven't done that a lot but love the look.  Thanks for stopping by today and have a great weekend.  I hope to post some swap cards with the summer mini stamps tomorrow so look for that.  Keep in mind that the summer mini is coming to a close here at the end of August so take one last look at it and make sure there is nothing there you can't live with out or it will be gone forever!  I will be placing an order early in the week so be sure to let me know.  I think I will do a mystery hostess type for these orders.

If you don't have the summer mini feel free to click on the link here on the side of my blog to view it.

Nursery Nest

Today's post is a card made with the Pennant Parade stamp set found on page 69 of the current IB&C.  What a versatile set!  I combined it with the Nursery Nest dsp on page 186.  Keep in mind this month's SU promotion of buy 3 get 1 free on the papers.  What a great way to stock up on all new paper!

Cardstock used was blushing bride, pear pizzazz, wisteria wonder, and whisper white.  The ribbon matches the blushing bride, which is one of the things I love most about SU; the fact that everything matches from ribbon, to cardstock, to ink, etc.  LOVE IT!  I used the polka dot folder on the two strips with the Big Shot.  The Petite Pennants Builder punch helped to make the pennants along with some toothpicks from the kitchen.  I love the little birds in this dsp that also coordinates with the stamp set Aviary from page 83.  Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day everyone!

Delicate Doilies

Happy Saturday to you all!  Today's post is done with Delicate Doilies, another new set to the current IB&C.  You can find it on page 127.

It also uses the flirtatious DSP which is a specialty paper new to this catalog as well.  I used concord crush, peach parfait, and pear pizzazz for my ink and cardstock colors along with whisper white.  Added some pearls for bling--those pearls and rhinestones were the greatest addition to SU's line of products last year.  I use them all the time!  The punches used are the dotted scallop ribbon border and modern label.  Enjoy your weekend!  Thanks for dropping by for a few minutes today.

Masculine Card

So I needed a masculine birthday for my father-in-law last week.  I headed to the Countryside stamp set knowing that it would be the set to use.  You can find it on page 100 of the 2011-2012 IB&C.

I used some first edition dsp, artichoke, naturals cardstocks along with some watercolor paper.  The greeting comes from the stamp set On Your Birthday (page 163).  I used a square punch to make the banner end--so easy when you do it that way.  A little watercoloring, sponging, and tearing of cs along the way added the textured look I was looking for.  Thanks for stopping by today and enjoy your day!

I miss you!

This was a quick and easy card I made with the button buddies stamp set which is a new set to the catalog just released last month.  If you don't have your new catalog and are interested in one please contact me.

Don't ever let your kids grow up and move away!  You will miss them terribly.  I made this card for my daughter who is currently living in Seattle area.  She has a great job there so we are thankful, but I miss her every day.  Okay, back to the card, I used two of the new in colors; calypso coral and wisteria wonder and of course some shimmery white cs as well.  The center of the flower is another new item called designer printed brads.  They have polka dots on them--maybe if you click on the picture you will be able to see them.  These brads are on page 199 of the 2011-2012 IB&C.  They are an assortment of all the new five in colors.   They are sooooooo darn cute.  Button Buddies stamp set can be found on page 71 of the IB&C.  Eight great samples shown on that page too.  I think this book has more samples than before--a lot of new ideas, for sure!  Thanks for stopping by.

With Love and Care

Here are some cards that I made with the hostess set from the summer mini called Love & Care.  Perfect Plum is the color I used.

I used the first edition and subtles dsp.  Some different punches as each one was slightly different between the modern label, scallop border, scallop circle, word window, etc.  Some had ribbon, some had rhinestones, some had brads, etc.  I used the stamp and write markers to color the flower with perfect plum and old olive and stamped them twice without reinking on the first edition dsp.  Also used very vanilla cs.  A fun card that you can put pretty much any greeting on.  Below is a peek at how I did the inside on some of them.

Enjoy your Sunday and thanks for stopping by!  Back to the hay fields for me for the day!  Hoping the rain will stay away!

New Catalog Time!

Well, once again, it is time for a new Stampin' Up! year.  July 1 unveiled the new IB & C.  Here is a picture of the cover--isn't it beautiful??

You can view it or place orders online at http://www.rheastamps.stampinup.net/   Now onto a bit of creativity to inspire your stamping thoughts.  This card is made with one of the new stamp sets called My Friend.  So fitting to share with all my stamping friends out there.

I used perfect plum and basic gray for cardstock along with vanilla.  I used a piece of vanilla on the inside as well to cover the basic gray base.  Also showcased in this card is a new punch called lace ribbon border.  I absolutely love this punch.  I added a few rhinestones for bling and the taffeta ribbon is in basic gray as well but this is a discontinued ribbon so if you still have some you are in luck otherwise I would use the perfect plum 3/8 inch taffeta which is new in the current IB&C.  We have lots of new ribbons and colors; be sure to check them all out.  Thanks for stopping by today.

June Downline Challenge

I offered a challenge to my downline a couple weeks ago--this time I picked TSSC177.  It is always a fun little thing to do and here are the cards that I got from the gals that participated.

This first card was the winner by my judges--boy am I ever glad that I didn't have to judge these--they are all good!  Mary from MN is our "Queen of the challenge" this time.  She used the Sunny Fun set from the summer mini catalog.

Jamie made this card and gave you  a sneak peek of some new fun items coming the catalog that goes live July 1.  Tomorrow already!  We have a new punch called the lace ribbon border punch that makes the orange lace layer and some fun DSP called Flirtatious Specialty.  These coordinate with a stamp set called Delicate Doilies.  Oh.....you are going to love this new catalog.  Be sure to contact me to get yours soon!

This card was made by Denice and uses the Always Elegant and Word Pay sets in black and white.  I love the look of this card--it is so striking with the black and white and some bling with the rhinestones.
This is the last card and was made by Kristina  and again gives you a sneak peek the that Delicate Doilies set and the new in color Wisteria Wonder (I love purples).  I love the tag and the white baker's twine that you can find in the summer mini and will be available in the new IB & C.
Thanks for stopping by--have a great day!

Retiring stamps

As promised, I am posting some pictures of cards that are with retiring sets.  I am going to miss these sets--<sniff>!

This first one is a really cute idea that I cased from Linda Heller.  Thanks Linda!  DSP's are retired already but you can use the idea with any papers.  Fun and fast notes is a set that I will miss dearly--a great all around set.

The inside to one of the cards.

A card made in artichoke and with the party hearty stamp set.  Another one that I will miss dearly.

This card was a swap card I received from Jill Nolan.

This last card is from a gal that I swap with on a regular basis, Sharon Burkert.  I love this card done with the Love you so much set.  I hope you enjoy these samples and be sure to take a look at the retiring list and make sure there isn't something there you can't live without!  Give me a call or email with your $25 order today or by noon tomorrow and you will get a FREE new catalog!  Thanks for stopping by!
