Botanical Gazette

Here is a card using the botanical gazette dsp from the occasion's mini catalog.  The base card is espresso that was run thru the polka dot folder for the front side of the card.

It uses a quote from the occasional quotes stamp set which is in the hostess section level 3.  A couple of scallop punches, one in cherry cobbler, and one out of the botanical gazette dsp are layered together with a 1 3/4" circle that was stamped with the stamp set Clearly for you from the occasions mini as well.  The quote is punched with a large oval punch in early espresso ink.  Sponging with cherry cobbler and espresso inks as well.  The button is cherry cobbler dirtied up with a brown sharpie marker and tied with some linen thread.  The bottom dsp is punched with the scallop trim border punch.  Thanks for stopping by today!

So Happy For You

Today's post is a quick and very easy card done with another of the Sale-a-bration sets called So Happy For You.  It also uses the dsp & quick accents pack that is one of the picks for SAB as well.

The base card is pacific point cs and I stamped with pacific point, melon mambo, and daffodil delight the flowers on a strip of white cs and then sponged some of those colors over the top.  This was then mounted to a strip of paper from the pack mentioned above.  The greeting was punched with the decorative lable punch and tucked behind that.  I put a few randon flowers on the base card before assembling it together.  I used the scallop border punch with the dsp for a trim at the top edge of the card.  Quick and easy!

I Got a Stylish Blogger Award!!!!

Yesterday, I received this Stylish Blogger Award from Jamie at Shabby Horse, and I am so excited!  Be sure to stop in to visit her and see her great projects and ideas.  Thanks Jamie for passing this award on to me, I feel so honored!

When you receive this award you are to pay it forward and follow these rules:

1) Thank the person who gave the award and link it back to their blog.

2) Share 8 things about myself.

3) Pass this award to 8 other individuals that I have recently discovered.

4) Leave a comment so that they can pass along the recognition.

Now I need to share 8 things about myself, so here goes:
1.  I have been a SU demo for 14 years and mainly love to make cards, however 3-D items, home decor, and scrapbooking also allow me to share this amazing craft.  I absolutely treasure the friendships that have developed because of Stampin' Up!

2.  I am my hubby's best hired man (also the only one!) as we work together on our ranch to raise cattle.  I also substitute teach occasionally--did this mainly while our kids were in school but still do a day here or there.

3.  I have been married for 28 years and have 2 children ages 26 & 22.

4.  I was valedictorian of my high school class of 11 kids (huge class huh?) and managed to stay on the dean's list at college.

5.  I love to golf and golf in a league in the summertime in a town about 30 miles from home here.  My mother-in-law and I go each week together.

6.  I watch Days of Our Lives and American Idol on TV.

7.  Being a SU demo has taken me so many places for conventions, leaderships, and regionals.  I've been to Salt Lake City, St. Louis, San Diego, Las Vegas, Denver, Orlando, Nashville, Palm Springs, Couer D'Alene, and Phoenix.  Some of them more than once of course.

8.  I live in a family of drag racers!  My husband took up racing when I started stamping.  He has built engines for 3 cars as both of the kids race too.  The kids started as soon as they got their driver's licenses and both were high school champions thru the years.  They all still love to race and now they compete against each other.  As a matter of fact, Jim and Jeff (father and son) raced against each other for a championship race this past season,  (Dad won--barely)!
So now I am going to pass the Stylish Blogger Award on to eight people whose blogs I love to visit.

CCMC138~~ Bliss Again!

Happy Tuesday to all!  Today's card is again made with the SAB set, Bliss.  I just love this set!  This is a card that I made to do a challenge from Create with Connie and Mary CCMC138.

I used cherry cobbler, baja breeze, early espresso, and crumb cake (stepping out of my comfort zone--not a combo I usually use).  Also used was the dotted scallop ribbon border, 2½ inch circle, and decorative label punches.  Some of the embellishments include linen thread and basic pearls.  Base card is early espresso with a crumb cake layer.  The scallop ribbon border is out of early espresso cs and layered beside a piece of cherry cobbler dsp from the regals dsp stack.  The first edition dsp is torn first and then sponged with early espresso ink and has some of the flowers in cherry cobbler on it. The baja breeze circle was ran thru the Big Shot with the polka dot folder.  I LOVE my Big Shot!  I haven't regretted that purchase for one second; I use it all the time!   I colored the basic pearl with a marker to match.  The greeting comes from teeny tiny wishes sponged with early espresso ink.  The focal piece is distressed with the cutter kit and mounted to the card after adding the greeting with dimensionals.  All of these items are SU and can be found in either the occasions mini, Sale-a-bration, or our big Idea book and catalog.  If you have questions please feel free to contact me.  Have a great day!

Sale-a-bration is still going!

We are still celebrating with Sale-a-bration time with Stampin' Up!  You can check out the little catalog here: http://204.228.150.61/20102011catalogs/SAB11_US.pdf

Today's post uses one of these sets that you can get for FREE and is probably my favorite out of this little catalog.  It is called Bliss.

It uses baja breeze cardstock for the base card, vanilla cs embossed with tulip frame embossing folder thru the Big Shot, first edition dsp from the occasions mini catalog, chocolate chip cs that was embossed with the tulip frame folder and then punched with the photo corner punch.  The seam binding and the flower adornment come from the occasions mini catalog as well as the decorative label punch that I stamped the word bliss on.  I used some dimensionals to raise it up.  Thanks for stopping by.  Enjoy your week!

Fast and Fabulous!

Happy Sunday!  This is my first post for this new blog.  I am hoping you will find this quicker to load and more efficient for you to view.   Today's post is a card that I made with the fast and fabulous stamp set from the current hostess exclusive section from the 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog.  If you want to host a workshop and earn this set for free,  please contact me to set up a date.  This is also one of the cards made for part of the grand prize at my last stamp a stack class.

This card uses a concord crush base which is one of our in colors currently.  Then I had a sahara sand layer that was run thru the Big Shot using the framed tulip folder from the occasions mini catalog.  I then added a little white ink to the embossing with a sponge dauber.  The flowers are stamped with concord crush using just the outline flower stamp.  I used a blender pen to add a little concord crush and so saffron for the centers on the vanilla cs.  Then I added a scallop trim border edge with concord crush and then placed the victoria crochet trim and the vintage brad before adhering it to the concord base card.  Thanks for stopping by.
