Speaking of babies, I thought I would share a few calving pictures with you today as well, I am hoping we can get rid of snow and slop one day soon.

Flower Fest

Here is a sneak peek at one of the stamp sets called Flower Fest from the Summer Mini.  I did this for a challenge for Mary Jo's Monday Lunchtime Sketch challenge.  It was a fun and easy sketch to do and who doesn't love that?  Here is the sketch to follow:

I did poppin' pastels with my versamark and chalks.  I can't remember the last time I used my chalks for this.  I used rich razzleberry, daffodil delight, marina mist, and certainly celery with a sponge daubers to add the pastels over the versamark.  I light spray with aerosol hair spray sets the chalk for you. Then added a rich razzleberry layer and then the daffodil delight scallop edge.  The base card is rich razzleberry as well.  The greetings comes from the new summer mini set called Happy Greetings.  A couple of rhinestone jewels finish off the banner greeting.  I made the banner wavy (not sure if you can see that in the picture) by using my bone folder to curl it up and down.  A square punch makes the banner end easy to do--just insert to the corner of the punch and punch it out.

This is my second post for today so don't miss the cupcake cards from earlier.  Have a great day!

This is a blog hop

More cupcake cards!

Today I am showing you more cupcake cards.  You can find this set and the coordinating punch on page 22 of the occasion's mini catalog.  Don't wait too long as the last date to order this set and punch is April 30th.  That date is quickly approaching.

This first card is made by Sharon Burkert.  I especially love how she did double duty on the pink embossed piece with both the polka dot and elegant lines folders with the Big Shot.  That red glimmer paper makes a perfect cherry and to be able to punch it out and not have to cut it out is a BIG bonus in my book!

This card is made by Carol Gilmore.  More red glimmer paper found on page 7 of the occasion's mini catalog.  The glitter really stays on this paper.  Even when you punch it you don't make a mess.  Greeting is from the level 2 Something to Celebrate set out of the occasion's mini catalog.  Polka dot embossing folder and some real red satin ribbon to add to this simply fun card.

This last card is made by me.  You are getting a sneak peek of the white baker's twine thru the subtles button.  I used the 2 3/8" scallop circle punch and then the pink circle comes from the circles 2 die.  The dsp is from the subtles dsp stack.  And a red glimmer cherry to top it off!
Thanks for stopping by today.

More Four frames

More Four Frames ideas for you today!  A couple of swap cards that I got with this set from a group that I regularly swap with.

Sharon Burkert made this card--very pretty with the elegant lines embossing folder in the background.  Using the set and paper combo, I just love the colors.  A butterfly with a pearl accent to top it off.

This card is made by Sharon Skelton and you can see she ran the metal sheets thru the Big Shot to cut and emboss the butterflies.  She cased this card from someone but I don't have the card right in front of me to see who that "someone" was but cards are fun to case.  Thanks for stopping by today~enjoy your Palm Sunday.

Four Frames and Pretty Paisley~~~

As promised here are a few more ideas with the Four Frames set and Pretty Paisley dsp.  Enjoy!

When I saw this set and this particular frame, I thought it would be a good time to incorporate the teahouse background stamp found in the current IB&C on page141.  Colors used are cherry cobbler, baja breeze, and soft suede.  You will probably have to click on the picture to enlarge it to see the pearls for accent on the frame.

A quick card done in old olive and chocolate--lends itself to the more masculine side I think.  You can't really tell in the picture but I put it on a white base card.

This is a little 3x3 card that I got from a friend recently; a touch of glitter to the flowers added just the right touch.  So dainty and pretty!   Thanks Sharon!

Nature Walk

It is a nice day here today--calm before the storm as they are predicting snow again for us!  I am sooooooo tired of winter!  I am hoping that it doesn't happen and that the weather man is WRONG.  Today's post reminds me of spring with the flowers from the stamp set Nature Walk that is in the occasions mini catalog that is current until the end of April.  Take a look in there and make sure there in nothing you can't live without as I can't guaratee that we will see it ever again.  Some of the sets and items usually move into the new catalog but I don't know what ones.  You'll find this set on page 27 and it has matching DSP called Botanical Gazette on page 26 that goes with it.

This card starts with an early espresso base and then an early espresso layer that was run thru the Big Shot with the framed tulip folder from the occasion's mini.  The focal piece was stamped by coloring in the stamp with markers of old olive, marina mist, and early espresso.  After all the stamping on the vanilla piece I then ran it through the Big Shot with the square lattice embossing folder this time.  I layered it to an old olive piece and tied the linen thread around it a couple times.  Using the tiny tags set I made a couple of tags and threaded them on with linen thread.  Tags were punched using the jewelry tag punch.  Then a layer of botanical gazette dsp layered to not quite navy and assembled all the layers and it was a done deal.  Well, it is time to head out to put some pairs out to pasture from the corrals; as Jeff has just hollered at me that he is ready to go.  We have our son, Jeff, home for a week to help with calving while he is on spring break from Missoula.  Isn't that the way most kids want to spend their spring break??  He has enjoyed the night checks for his dad, giving him a well deserved break.  It has been great to have him home and is one of my excuses as to why I haven't been here very regular, however, it is mostly the calving season that takes all my time these days.  Thanks for stopping by and keep checkin' in as I got my new goodies in the mail today so I hope to do some playing soon!  We'll have some sneak peeks from the summer mini coming your way.
