Snowflake Soiree

Today's post uses the stamp set called Snowflake Soiree and is found in the Holiday Mini 2012 on page 5.
I used three different colors of blue--midnight muse, baja breeze, and pool party. The decorative label punch is used on the Merry stamp. I sponged the edges to give it a softer look and added a bit of dazzling diamonds glitter with a glue pen. Then I used the Big Shot with the delicate designs embossing folder and the large scallop edgelit to do the top piece. I added glitter again in the same process as before. The midnight muse ribbon adds the finishing touch. I LOVE that Stampin' Up! has so many coordinating products to use. Thanks for stopping by today--have a great weekend!

Pumpkin Time!

Sorry it's been a few days since I posted. Hubby and I took a little trip to Canada to visit our daughter for a few days. Canada was absolutely beautiful with all the fall colors. I took my computer with me in hope that I would find time to post while there but we were too busy playing! :-) Today's post was inspired by a good friend and fellow swapper Carol Gilmore. I found this swap that I think she made last year or the year before that was this very layout but she didn't have the greeting on it. I thought it was a wonderful way to add our bitty banner greetings to it.
It uses the stamp sets Jack of All Trades and Itty Bitty Banners; both of which can be found in our regular catalog. The banner was cut with the big shot and the bitty banner framelit dies. The little bow made with linen thread adds a nice touch. These were pretty quick and easy so I made a whole bunch to share with people.
Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great day!

Postage Due

Today's post has some swap cards made with the Postage Due stamp set. This is a new set to the regular catalog this year found on page 108. It has a nice alphabet set that coordinates with it called Morning Post Alphabet. This first card is by Mary Hall. She mixes crumb cake, early espresso, and vanilla together for this card. I LOVE crumb cake--it is probably my favorite neutral color.
Mary added some sponging and bling to this card--here is a closer peek.
This next card is by my good friend and downline, Denice Marshall. Again, using the Postage Due stamp set. Colors are midnight muse (a new in color), early espresso, and crumb cake.
She add some light sponging around the edges of the bigger vanilla piece of cs. Denice used the postage stamp punch found on page 182 to punch the three pieces in the three colors. She used the ¼ inch stitched ribbon in early espressso, linen thread, and antique brads to add some bling to this card. What nice vintage looking cards--don't ya think?? Thanks for stopping by today. Enjoy your Sunday!

Anniversary Card

Well, as many of you know, our 30th wedding anniversary was this week. Here we were back then!
Today I am going to share the anniversary card I made for my dear heart. It uses the perfectly preserved set.
The cannery set framelits that match the set save all the cutting out of objects. These items are in the holiday mini catalog 2012. So the pears and leaves are cut with the big shot. Also used the labels collection framelits, polka dot TIEF, fancy fan TIEF with the big shot for this card. Sponging on the vanilla label collection framelit in cajun craze and mustard careful to leave some empty space toward the middle. The crochet ribbon was sponged with mustard as well. The brown polka dot framelit piece is the espresso brown core'dinations cardstock out of the mini as well. Then you just sand it a bit to find the inner color. The greeting comes from the set called A Word for You. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Daydream Medallions

Today's post is cards made with a new stamp set to our annual catalog called Daydream Medallions. It has a matching jumbo wheel called Daydream. First card is from Sharon Skelton.
She used the wheel on the bottom of this card along with the stamp set that was cut out by the floral frames framelit dies. You use these dies with the Big Shot. What a versatile tool. If you don't have one, you should think about hosting a workshop and getting it for your ½ off item with a $400 workshop. Contact me for more details. The letter was cut with the big shot and the typeset alphabet die. Kimberly Allen made the next card.
This is a bigger square card measuring 5½ inches. She has so many nice touches to this card. Her diagonal scored background on the not quite navy along with the sponged edges. The blue flower layer is actually the new specialty paper from our annual catalog called natural composition. It has lightly raised patterns that appear glossy on the crumb cake paper. She actually hand cut the larger of the vanilla layers and added it to the floral framelit in soft suede. Champagne glimmer paper from the holiday mini is the flower center. Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great day!

Perfectly Preserved

This was not my favorite set out of the holiday mini this year--was not even on my first order of supplies from there; however, I have grown to fall in love with it. I had some time to play with it last week and came up with these cards.
I especially love that they gave us framelits to match this set--those of you who know me, know that I dislike cutting things out. The dsp--orchard harvest gives me the color choices to follow.
This card uses the coredinations cardstock from the holiday mini in early espresso ran thru the TIEF caled woodgrain. Then when you sand the paper a bit the tan color comes out. I punched the seeds out with the heart punch of a pear stamped in cherry cobbler. The heart punch matches pretty closely and worked well.
This is a card I used at my open house last week. It is a square card of 4½ inches. The ribbon in island indigo and linen thread add a nice touch.
Here is another square card. This one has a button and I used a skinny piece of cs to thread thru the holes of the button. Thanks for stopping by today and enjoy your week.

Googly Eyes!

Today's post is made with the stamp set from the Holiday mini called Googly ghouls on page 27. I love the little googly eyes you can get on the same page to add to the eyes! They already have adhesive on them. If you want to use this set for Halloween treats, be sure to check out the designer kit on that same page.
This is a fun little gatefold card and uses the Howlstooth dsp and I just use some markers to add a little color to it. Here is how it looks on the inside.
I used the Seasonal Sayings set on page 34 of the holiday mini and the framelit from the regular catalog page 191 called apothecary accents. I'm not quite sure how I lived for so long without a Big Shot and all the fun diecutting, and embossing things you can add to projects! Have a great day and thanks for stopping by today.

Holiday Mini---day 3

This first card is a card made by Resa Russell who is in my downline. She used the stamp sets from the holiday mini called Evergreen & First Christmas found on pages 18&19.
This is a joy fold card and the vintage brad is what holds the flap down. I love this card technique and it inspired me to create another card using this technique which I will post another day. Thanks for the inspiration Resa! This next card is made by Kristina Astrup, another gal in my downline.
Kristina used the Autumn Accents Bigz Die to create these leaves along with the woodgrain TIEF. The greeting comes from Teeny Tiny Wishes. This make a wonderful Thanksgiving card--and be sure to check out the Wonderfall stamp set that coordinates with this die. I am so thankful for all of you that check into my blog--leave me a comment so I know you are out there--LOL. Also want to thank all of my downline for your dedication. I wish you all a great FALL season. Happy Labor Day!

More Holiday Samples

As promised, here is some more holiday inspiration from the 2012 Holiday mini catalog. If you don't have this catalog and would like one be sure to contact me.
This first card was made by my very first recruit, Linda Picchioni. She has been stamping longer than I have I believe. She is one of my very best friends and I love her laughter and stamping abilities among many other things. She used the single stamp called Frosty Friends (pg 9 of the HM) and Joyous Celebrations (pg.7) for the oval and sentiment. Lots of Big Shot goodies on this card. The Holiday Frame tief (textured impressions embossing folder)from the HM catalog. The Fancy Fan tief, and labels collection framelits. I love how she uses the debossed side of her embossed pieces. A very cute card and who doesn't love snowmen??
The second card was made by Nicole Tholt. Nicole used the Ornament Keepsakes bundle. In the holiday mini (HM) you will see many of these bundles. This one combines the ornament keepsakes stamp set and the holiday ornaments framelits and they are priced to save 15%. I love the color combination of red, green and brown. She used the ornament stamp along with some cherry scalloped tulle ribbon(HM--pg.4) along with the labels collection framelits, polka dot tief, and dazzling details on the ornaments for her focal point. You will notice the paper piercing done with the Festive piercing pack (pg 30 HM). Don't you just love how she layered a couple of the labels in different colors and no more cutting them out by hand as long as you have a Big Shot...if you don't start saving your pennies!

It's "Spool time"!

Happy September 1st! To me, September is the beginning of fall and it is my favorite season. I am looking forward to cooler temperatures and some rain if God will so bless us. In the month of September, Stampin' Up! has a wonderful special for us to take advantage of.
