Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to all today!  I hope you are all enjoying time with family and friends this holiday weekend!

My first visitors arrived yesterday...

Now to share a card idea for inspiration with you all...This reminded me of Thanksgiving...

Color combo is from the color coach and is always artichoke, Cajun craze, and so saffron.  I used crumb cake for the greeting and splatter.  The splatter stamp comes from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set...what a versatile set.  I use it all the time!  Colored leaves are from the set out of the holiday catalog called For All things.  Thank you is a  photopolymer set found online at my website:  www.rheastamps.stampinup.net  Click the shop button and then search stamps for photopolymers.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Enjoy your weekend!

Cards from friends

Today I am sharing some cards from friends that I have recently received.  Thanks to all for the thoughts and  prayers as I recover from surgery.

I love this card using the trim the tree dsp stack.  This would make a great Christmas thank you.  Start thinking about it, as it will be here before we know it!  Thanks Linda P.

How cheery is this?  The punch pack is on sale during the extravaganza right now to punch the flowers with.  Stamp sets pictogram punches (pg.89) and Hi there (pg.18).  I love the crisp, clean look of this card.  Thank you Sharon B.

This one was a Two for Tuesday card from Debbi M.  I love the tree out of the newsprint paper---fun~!  What a cute idea!  Thanks Debbi!

I LOVE PURPLE!~~~need I say more...this Color me Autumn paper has been one of my fav's!  I admire the fussy cut leaves (you all know how I hate to cut things out)  LOL!  The greeting comes from Perfect Pennants stamp set.  This set is on sale in a bundle with the banner framelits during the Extravaganza Sale that is currently going on!  Thanks Brooke M. for a bright and cheery card!

CCMC330

Today I am posting a card I made for a color challenge.  Here was the challenge:

And...here is my card!
It uses the wonderous wreath stamp set with matching framelit found on page 9 of the holiday catalog.  The greeting is out of the set For all things on page 41.  I used the matching tangelo twist ribbon and the woodgrain TIEF for dimension along with some dimensionals to pop the wreath up off the card.  I LOVE these colors.

Don't forget that today starts the Extravaganza sale.  You can check it out HERE!

Thanks for stopping by today.

Winter thank you!

Today's post is a winter thank you made with punches.  I totally cased this card from Ronda W. and she cased it from someone else...so whoever came up with originally, Good JOB!  I love it.

It does require a template...that makes it easier so just take some scrap and create on like I did below.

It takes the 1 3/4 inch circle punch at the bottom, then the 1¼ inch circle punch, then the 1 inch circle, then do the square for the hat with the 1 inch square and then lastly the stem from the bird punch to make the brim.  Once you get a template you just hold it over a  piece of 4x 5¼ inch pool party cs and use it to guide you.  You can whip out several in a hurry this way.
Run it thru the northern flurries or stamp some snowflakes on the pool party, add some rhinestones and a greeting (I stamped mine in island indigo) and you are DONE!  It is so quick!

GOOD NEWS FOR THE DAY, one of the punches is on sale this week in Stampin' Up! weekly deals.  Head on over to my website to order.  www.rheastamps.stampinup.net  click "shop now" and place your order.  Or you can call me or email me your order.  Hostess code :  TTXPMG42

Christmas Challenge

I was feeling up for a challenge today and a challenge I got...so I found a challenge to do in which you were asked to use Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Early Espresso...sounds easy enough, right???  Now make it Christmas!  Yikes!  But...here is what I came up with:
My colors look a little wonky in the picture but the ornaments are in Cajun craze and Crushed curry.  I fussy cut them out (so not me...so those of you who know me, don't faint).  Popped them up with dimensionals and added the gold baker's twine.  The greeting is in Early espresso and I sponged the edge of the vanilla layer with the crushed curry ink (that is kind of hard to see).

So...how did I do??

Thanks for stopping by today and be sure to check back as Stampin Up! has some great sales coming our way.  I don't know what they are yet so stay tuned.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a great weekend!

Banner Blessings

About a year-and-a-half ago, Stampin' Up! announced a new contest inviting all stampers, demonstrators and non-demonstrators, to put on their creative caps and submit a design for a monster-themed set. You all might remember my sweet friend, Doris, and her winning Monster Maniacs set? :-) I loved the set and didn't mind being the runner-up to her creation. So when Shelli announced at convention that year that there would be another contest, I knew I wanted to try again!
As my mother and I drove back to Vegas from our first convention, we brainstormed all sorts of sayings and phrases that we thought would make a great stamp set. When I went back to work, I couldn't help but doodle here and there. I would draw something, take a picture, and send it to my mom and she'd say yes or no. (She was my upline at the time so I figured she knew what would work. After all, mother knows best!)
One night I was rocking our middle son to sleep and saw the Bible verse I had painted on a canvas to match his spaceship-themed room. "Shine like stars in the universe"--one of my favorite verses of scripture. That's when I decided I wanted to do a scripture set. I sat down and thought of a few that I felt would not only look great on a card but would reach someone who needed to be lifted up.
I was in the Air Force for nine years. All nine years were spent far from family, and even a few months were in the Middle East--away from my husband and our 7-month-old son. Nothing helped more than the scripture verses my mom or dad or my church family would write on my cards. In fact, I still have a scrap of paper with a verse that my dad sent me while I was in basic training.
There's something special about making a card for someone and I wanted these Banner Blessings to make it even more special! Thank you, Stampin’ Up!, for the opportunity, and thanks to everyone for their support! I hope you enjoy the set as much as I have already! :-)

**Please note the opportunity to design stamp sets is no longer available.

Wonderful Wreath

All the best laid plans...I started this post before I went in for surgery thinking I could finish it and  post it while in the hospital....hmmmm...didn't happen!  But today I will finish it and add some other posts as well.  Lots to look at today.  Get a cup of coffee and enjoy!
I made this card for a swap.  A fun, cute card.

I used the stylish stripes TIEF with the big shot on the white background and the bow that was diecut with the matching framelits to this stamp set found in the holiday catalog on page 9.  It is called Wonderful Wreath.

Here is a close up to show the stripes and also to show the red glimmer paper that I put behind the punched holes to represent the berries on the wreath!  Now onto a new photopolymer stamp set that SU released a while back for Christmas cards...click HERE to view the flyer.  It is called Gentle Peace.  If you want to order on this month's mystery hostess, go to my website and while ordering be sure to enter this hostess code on the page where you view your shopping bag after you start shopping.  Hostess Code:  TTXPMG42

Thanks for stopping by today!  Check back tomorrow for another post.
