Happy Fall!

We are feeling a lot like fall here in MT as this Labor Day weekend begins!  It's a cloudy, cool day with some rain showers out there.  The weather just said snow in the higher elevations.  We won't see that here where we live tho.  I'm not ready for snow!

Today's card looks like fall though.  I love the fall colors...

This card has several steps and some of my customers got to make this card a class recently.  First you will use the embossing buddy on the white cs layer and then stamp leaves from Lighthearted Leaves stamp set in versamark ink and sprinkle with white embossing powder and heat emboss them.  Then using sponges you will sponge the color over them.  I used old olive, hello honey, pumpkin pie, and Cajun craze.  After letting that dry a bit, we used the embossing buddy again over the white layer.

The greeting was done by the thumping technique.  Ink the greeting in pumpkin pie and thump Cajun craze over the top with the brush tip end of a stampin write marker.  Stamp and punch it out.  I sponged the edges with some pumpkin pie ink.  Place on the card using dimensionals.

Now to get that splattered glitter look...
Using a lid to a button container or cottage cheese container you will take a little bit of the green tombow glue.  Next you will use an aqua painter from Stampin' Up! to add a little water to the glue to make it more of a liquid.  Mix it around and then by hitting the aqua painter against your finger you will splatter that glue liquid on the cardstock.  When  you get your desired look, sprinkle with the gold glitter.  Set aside for drying time.  This is soooooo pretty in real life!  Well worth the glitter mess you make!  LOL!

After dry, I added a little gold ribbon and then put it to a pumpkin pie base card.

Enjoy your Labor Day weekend!

Wild about Flowers

I got a swap card from Mary Ammar recently and I loved it.  So I cased her and changed the colors and the sentiment.

I love this stamp set, it is called Wild About Flowers and comes in photopolymer only...item #138728 for $21.00; adding the pearls to the flowers really adds a nice touch.  The sentiment comes from Perfect Pennants.  A stamp from the Gorgeous Grunge set goes over the flowers to add some color.

Enjoy your day and thanks for stopping by today.

Heartfelt Sympathy meets Everyday Chic

Today's post is  a card that I made for a dear friend who has been diagnosed with breast cancer.  As a breast cancer survivor, I've been in her shoes.  I love this stamp set for these type of cards.

I used the Everyday Chic washi tape to create a background, then used the Lots of Labels framelits to cut a window for the greeting from Heartfelt Sympathy.  This gives you a pretty label that I used in another card below.

The greeting on this card comes from stamp set Birthday Blossoms.  A punched flower with a candy dot middle adds to this card.  Quick and simple.
These cards use quite a few new items from the 2015-16 annual catalog.  If you would like one, let me know.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Six-sided fun....and Hostess Code

Today's post is a card that I made for my nephew and his wife.  They had twin boys!

I used pool party, smoky slate, and pear pizzazz.
I used a new stamp set called Sweet Li'l One found on page 36 of the current catalog.  The hexagon punch layered to a circle punch is just the right combination to showcase 2 boys!  The smoky slate background comes from another new this year set called You've got this.  It is found on  page 113.

Since I forgot to post the hostess code the other day for August, here it is:
PFPDGBQD
Just enter that code when placing an order at my website.  www.rheastamps.stampinup.net

Amazing Birthday!

Today I am sharing a card that I received at convention from LeeAnn Greff and my spin off of that card.  Her card uses the cherry on top designer series paper (dsp) and the greeting comes from the tin of cards stamp set.  Both are new to the current catalog.

Those of you who have had the chance to experience convention, know the madhouse that I speak of when demonstrators are swapping cards.  It's crazy!  LeeAnn took a moment to explain her card when I spoke about the cute little window.  Here was what she used:

You just feed the designer series paper (dsp) into the punch as far as it will go making sure it is centered and punch.  This will give you one full size punch piece, which I will show you how to use in a second card.  Then turn it around 180 degrees and push all the way in as far as it will go again and line it up with previous punched area and punch.  You will just get some scraps that cut this time.
Now, LeeAnn stopped there.  I turned mine 90 degrees and repeated this punching pattern one more time to get this:

The greeting comes from the stamp set called Amazing Birthday.  I needed a masculine card so used some dsp that is retired...it was in the occasions catalog this  past spring.  Watch the clearance rack, sometimes it shows up there.  It was called Adventure Bound.
You can turn that piece one more time so all four sides are punched to get a more circular window.
Now, remember the one good punched piece?  Here is another card I made with that piece.

Both cards use the large polka dot embossing folder.  The greeting on this one comes from a FREE set we received at convention called Something to Say.  I frayed the burlap ribbon a bit on each end.  The tag piece was punched with the banner triple punch found on page 165 of the new catalog.
Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great week!

Watermelon card

Today's card is another swap card I did for my July swap, plus I took a few to convention with me.
It uses some of the new in colors, watermelon wonder and cucumber crush.  It took me a bit to see how would be easiest to make the watermelon  piece.  After some trial and error, this is what I felt was easiest to achieve the watermelon piece.

Cut white cs to 3 3/4" x 5" and then mark with a pencil at the very bottom at 1 7/8" to mark the middle.

Take the work of art stamp set and start creating the watermelon.  Using the tick mark, line up from the to the corners at the top to make the diagonal cuts.  Using paper snips trim the top of the green to create the rind.
Using the tree builder punch and the 1- 3/4 inch scallop circle punches to create the bite mark and the seeds of the watermelon out of a scrap of black cs.

Add some watermelon wonder ribbon and the greeting comes from the set named Num-Num.  All supplies are in the 2015-2016 annual catalog.  If you don't have one yet and want one, feel free to contact me.

Swap card for convention

Today I am sharing one of my swap cards for convention.  So fun and quite easy to do.  I love the bright, summer time colors.  I used rich razzleberry, and pear pizzazz.
You can see the double time embossing on the white layer a little better in the bottom picture.  The large dots texture impressions embossing folder lends itself well to this technique.  The greeting comes from a hostess set in this new catalog called A Whole Lot of Lovely.  I just inked the whole thing in pear pizzazz and then took a q tip to remove the green ink from the flowers.  Then using the rich razzleberry marker, I colored them in again.  Remember to huff on it before stamping.  The moisture from your breath with moisten the fast drying ink.

Here is the hostess set I used.:

A Whole Lot of Lovely
139456--clear mount
138942--wood mount

If you would like to book a class, contact me or you can get some of your friends to place orders and do a catalog workshop as well and have the chance to earn this stamp set for FREE!

Summer life!

Wow, I love summertime...so much fun, but it always seems to go so fast!  We had rain in the hay fields so it enabled me to post here this morning.  We had a drag racing weekend a week ago...and both of our kids and hubby, Jim, spent the weekend racing.  It had been 5 years since our daughter has been home during a race.

It's a Nova party!  Here is all three of their cars...with Jim and Jeff in the background chatting about the day.
Here are the kids filling out their tech cards.
They all race the same class together in Pro Class, so that means they get to race each other sometimes.  Here is Jim and Jeff racing each other!
Here is Jillian in her 75 Nova getting ready to do a time trial.
It's a family event so even Oakley gets to go spend the day.  Jillian giving him a drink of water.
It was great to spend the weekend with family and friends.  We had a wedding reception to go to on Saturday evening, so made some wedding cards for that weekend as well.  We went to the reception and dance at Flatwillow Hall.  I didn't envy those getting up early to head to the races the next day!  We stayed waaaaaay too long dancing and visiting with neighbors.  Here are the cards:
Thanks for stopping by today...I know this was kind of a long post, thanks for hanging in there with me.  Sahara sand and wisteria wonder are pretty together.

Masculine Birthday!

These type cards can be tough, but we all need them in our stash of cards!  I wanted to share my latest birthday card that I made for a nephew this past weekend.

Smoky slate, black and white along with some dazzling diamonds glimmer paper!  Used a retired sizzlits for the numbers but the greeting is from Sassy Saluatations.  Thanks for stopping by today and keep in mind that the new catalog is now available.  Contact me to get yours.

New In Colors 2015-2017

Today I am sharing with you the newest in color collection that will go live to customers in a few weeks.  If you would like a new catalog, be sure to contact me and let me know.

Watermelon Wonder...this is a beautiful color, more red than calypso coral.  Kind of reminds me of a lighter shade of the retired color Poppy Parade.  Going to be a great summer color.

Mint Macaron...the designers ran out of this color at Stampin Up! so it was very popular with them.  It is NOT a pastel green...it is a green with more of a gray tone to it.  Very close to our retired color Sage Shadow.  I've missed sage shadow so pretty happy to see this color!

Cucumber Crush...a beautiful bright green.  This will make a wonderful Christmas green and leaf green, so bright and pretty.  I don't think SU has had anything close to this color before.

Tiptop Taupe...this is a nice neutral that will fit right between sahara sand and crumb cake.  It is a little more brown than sahara sand and yet more gray than crumb cake.  I love it!

Delightful Dijon...those of you who have missed more mustard like I have will love this color.  It is not a match to more mustard but probably the closest we have to that color currently.  It is brighter than more mustard was.  It has more brown than hello honey, one of our current in colors.
I hope you have enjoyed this sneak peek, and again...send me an email or comment on this post if you would like a new catalog.  My email is rheastamps@hotmail.com
Have a great day!  Thanks for stopping by...stop back by for some cards made with these great new colors.

Six-sided Fun

I'm back!  I have gotten my cast off and am down to wearing a splint for a while so I have a little more mobility to do things.  I stamped a card which I will share with you today and am hoping to become a bit more consistent here with posting again.

Colors used are calypso coral, coastal cabana and white.  I used the six sided sampler set and the matching punch with the honeycomb TIEF.  The greeting comes from And many more set.  A couple candy dots to set off the greeting...love those little candy dots!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great Sunday!

CCMC344-Work of Art

Today's post is a card to participate in a color challenge.  What fun it was to work with Work of Art and Gorgeous Grunge together.  Here are the colors.

Below is my take on this color challenge!  Love these stamp sets.

Also added a butterfly from papillon poutpourri stamped in rose red and sponged with blushing bride.  I added three pearls to it's body.  The baker's twine is some twine that was included in the January Paper Pumpkin kit.  It is blushing bride with gold in it.
Thanks for stopping by today.

Lotus Blossom--Asian style

Here is a couple samples with the SAB  pick, Lotus Blossom.  This is such a pretty 3 step stamping set that you can get with a qualifying purchase for FREE!

It has a great Asian look to it using the colors of strawberry slush, rose red and black for the flower blossom.  I also added a little white satin ribbon and some of the SAB pick of paper called Irresistibly
Yours!  If you wanted that paper to pop more you could sponge it with some crumb cake ink.  Look below.

A little black taffeta ribbon at the base of the blossom helps to pull your eye to the focal point!
I'm off to check on calving heifers!
Thanks for stopping by...have a great day~!

Butterfly Basics

Today's post is a card made with Butterfly Basics.  I cased the idea from Artfelt Impressions and added a few touches to it.  I am a layer girl so it got a layer of smoky slate behind the focal point piece.  Then instead of plain pearls, I took my smoky slate blendies and colored them in with the medium marker.

Colors are pear pizzazz, smoky slate, and lost lagoon.  Oh and white of course.  :-)  Have a great day and stop in again soon!

CCMC 343

Today I used the Painted Blooms designer series paper that coordinates with the Painted Petals stamp set on my card to participate in the challenge over at Create with Connie and Mary.  It is a sketch challenge this time and here it is:

Here is what I came up with.  Hope you enjoy it.  I used three if the something borrowed embellishments from the occasions catty.  They are so pretty and I am not going to continue to be a paper hoarder so...using up some of that pretty paper too!

It's a big ole hill to climb!  The cows are scattered for a long line.

A peek to the north from the top of the hill coming home.

Cows getting a drink at the Big Well.

A look to the east--love Montana--you can see forever and then some!  Now some swap cards from leadership 2015!
